Please consult with your coordinator on appropriate arrival time for your procedure and arrange for departure no earlier than 8 am and please request wheel chair assistance on departure as Houston can be a very difficult airport!

Passport
Please remember that international travel requires a valid passport even for children!
Please notify us if you are bringing a minor child into Mexico and traveling without the child's other birth parent as a separate form will be required for the child's travels.
Driving to Monterrey

The process of driving to Monterrey is:
- Drive to Laredo, Tx via I-35.
- Obtain Mexican auto insurance. This is available at AAA or other locations.
- Drive across the border via International Bridge #2. Cost is currently US$3.00 (Feb. 2006).
- Drive to the Mexican immigration/customs building.
- At immigration/customs, obtain your tourist card and a permit for your vehicle, you need
- proof of ownership;
- proof of American registration;
- A valid American driver's licence;
- A proof of citizenship
- Drive out of Nuevo Laredo, Tx and take Mexican highway 85 south.
- Go past customs at the 16 mile (26km) checkpoint.
- Continue on highway 85 to the toll road.
- Take toll road to Monterrey--you'll pay the toll (N$185, about US$18) about halfway to Monterrey.
- Arrive in Monterrey.

Taking a bus from Laredo, Tx. or McAllen, Tx to Monterrey
There are two bus services our patients have used and found to be satisfactory. Call them please and find out how much they charge, address, etc.

The buses run hourly more less from Mc Allen and Laredo to MTY
Come to the Main Central Bus Station located in Colon St. which is only 5 mins. drive from the hotel and it is better if you take a taxi right outside of the building (not in the street, there are taxis right outside of the building inside of the perimeter of the bus station)..you will pay no more than $5.00 dlls. and it will be faster than waiting for our driver as the bus station is crowded and it takes a while to find each other.
